Dear Kids,
My brother has chicken pox. You should see him, he has red bumps on him, and he even gets to stay home from bear school.
I had chicken pox when I was six. First I felt a little sick, then I got itchy spots, and my Mom put lotion on them so I wouldn't keep scratching. I wanted to go to school because I didn't want to miss art or computer, plus all my friends were there. But the school nurse bear told my Mom I had to stay home for a whole week. She said, "Wuzzy can come back to school when all the spots have dry scabs on them and when he isn't getting any new spots." Chicken pox are pretty normal, and you don't get them from chickens.
I stayed home all week with my Mom. She read me stories, made me soup, and let me watch television. My class sent me some pictures and notes that said "Get better soon, Wuz". It wasn't too bad, and everybody was nice to me when I came back to school, nobody made fun of the scabs on my nose.
