School Nurse Perspectives

Filing Station
1. Don't use the labels, just assign a number to each compartment, that way you can use them as needed without relabeling. Keep track of what's in each compartment with a master map. Just ake a table with 24 cells and write in what's in each one with the assigned number.
2. For about 500 students, I assigned four compartments to a quarter of the alphabet, and put in-coming information, forms and notes in the appropriate compartment. Once I have entered the information or done whatever I need to do with it, file it in the student record.
Catchall bins can go on the top...a place to quickly toss things til you triage them to the right compartment
