1. Don't use the labels, just assign a number to each compartment, that way you can use them as needed without relabeling. Keep track of what's in each compartment with a master map. Just ake a table with 24 cells and write in what's in each one with the assigned number. |

2. For about 500 students, I assigned four compartments to a quarter of the alphabet, and put in-coming information, forms and notes in the appropriate compartment. Once I have entered the information or done whatever I need to do with it, file it in the student record. |

I try to keep the on-going ones all in the left column. |
