Beautiful Bones Bulletin Board
This was the most fun bulletin board I have done all year, and it was also one of the simplest. I wanted to impress upon my middle schoolers the importance of drinking milk for strong bones. Aggie came out of hiding again, this time holding a milk bone in her mouth with "Got Milk?" on it. I asked the computer teacher if she had a couple of students who might take some digital pictures of adult staff for me, and two students happily assumed the task. Each person photographed was asked first. The students later applied the "milk moustaches" digitally using a paint program. I then glued the pictures onto a brightly bordered paper. It was fun to get some of the non-teaching staff involved. The pictures above include the librarian, custodian, school resource officer, school secretary, several teachers, the superintendent's secretarial staff, and me (that's me under the letter A)

Note that Squeak the mouse is still in the lower right corner with his comments, in this case saying "Look who drinks milk!"

The letters were super-sized and printed on my computer, using the Comic Sans font.

The red bordered pages included information the health benefits of drinking milk. The kids loved the milk moustache mugshots and found them eye-catching enough to stop and read the information. : )
