My School Nurse Mission Statement

"My mission as a school nurse is to identify, prevent, remove, minimize or manage barriers to educating the child. In addition to nursing interventions, my plans of care will include promoting the education, health and well-being of my students. I will use my nursing knowledge to empower them to attain their best level of all three. I will do this through my example; by teaching them skills; by emphasizing those things that are positive for body, mind and spirit; by supporting those others who care about children; and by making every effort to foster self-responsibility. I will use my gifts as a communicator to share my knowledge and skills, putting these in the hands of the children, parents, educators and any others who come within my circle of influence as a school nurse."
